Florida received some help from the transfer portal Tuesday as it landed a commitment from former Michigan safety R.J. Moten. The senior is coming off an official visit to Gainesville and chose the Gators over LSU, Rutgers and Texas A&M, among others.

Moten started 10 games over 14 appearances last season, recording 31 tackles, including three for a loss with two sacks, to go with an interception and a pass breakup. Over his college career, he’s logged 15 starts over 29 games. Moten joined the Wolverines as a three-star commit in the 2020 class. The Delran, New Jersey native has two years of eligibility remaining.

According to Pro Football Focus, Moten spent 219 defensive snaps at deep safety compared to 140 as a box safety. The 6-foot, 223-pound defensive back earned a 65.2 coverage grade from the service, allowing 13 receptions for 103 yards on 20 balls thrown his way.
