Michigan State QB Payton Thorne to enter the transfer portal

The transfer portal just got some more star power at quarterback as Michigan State signal-caller Payton Thorne is the latest to announce his intentions to enter.

Thorne has plenty of experience during his three years with the Spartans, having played in 29 games and serving as Michigan State's starter the past two seasons.

During the 2021 season, Thorne recorded 3,232 passing yards with 27 touchdowns and ten interceptions while averaging 8.3 yards per attempt.

This past season, Thorne's numbers dipped a bit, registering 2,679 yards passing with 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt.
