Texas point guard Arterio Morris enters transfer portal

Highly touted freshman point guard Arterio Morris officially entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-3 floor general never got the time to showcase his abilities with the Longhorns, averaging just 4.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 11.8 minutes a game this season.

Morris entered Austin with high expectations after a dominant senior season propelled him in to the McDonald's All American Game.

Morris finished his senior season ranked No. 15 overall in the Rivals 150 and picked the Longhorns over Florida, Georgia and Kansas, due in large part to his relationship with Texas coach Chris Beard.

In January, Texas fired Beard weeks after he was charged with a third-degree felony for domestic violence, charges that were dropped a month later.

Beard was named head coach at Ole Miss in March.
