Transfer Tracker: Nebraska adds Longhorns' QB

The transfer portal never stops grinding. After losing Adrian Martinez to the portal, Nebraska found their replacement on Friday when Texas transfer quarterback Casey Thompson committed.
Recruiting: Thompson trimmed his list of top schools down to Texas, North Carolina, Arizona State, Miami, Tennessee and Oklahoma before committing to the Longhorns during the spring after his junior season.
At Texas: After taking over the starting job from Hudson Card in 2021, Thompson passed for 2,113 yards, rushed for 157 yards rushing and totaled 28 total touchdowns.
Farrell’s Take: I like Thompson as an upgrade over Adrian Martinez but the question is -- how much of an upgrade is he? He's mobile and has arm talent but he's also erratic with his accuracy and can be inconsistent. A shot in the arm is needed at Nebraska so this could be a good thing but a lot will depend on the talent they surround him with. I wouldn't expect miracles here.
