USC redshirt senior RB Darwin Barlow enters transfer portal

USC redshirt senior running back Darwin Barlow has entered the transfer portal following three seasons with the program. He transferred from TCU to USC for the 2021 season after playing the 2019 & 2020 seasons with the Horned Frogs.

During his entire college career, Barlow has rushed for 993 yards and 11 touchdowns on 181 carries for a 5.1 yards per carry average. At USC, he rushed for 466 yards and six touchdowns on 86 carries for 5.4 yards per carry. In the receiving game for his career, he has 18 receptions for 120 yards and zero touchdowns. At USC, he had eight receptions for 66 yards.

This past season, Barlow played in eight games. In those games, he had eight carries for 81 yards and one touchdown while tacking on one reception for 10 yards. His most productive season came in 2020 with TCU in 10 games played. On 73 carries, he had 423 yards for four touchdowns on 5.9 yards per carry. He also had nine receptions for 44 yards.

Barlow committed to TCU as a 4-star recruit with a 5.8 Rivals rating listed at 5’11”, 200 pounds. He has grown an inch since then and added 20 more pounds. He’s a talented back who in his prime has been really solid. If he finds the right situation, he could end up being a nice addition to someone’s running back room. He has one year of eligibility remaining, so he is certain to look to make the most of this final year of his college career.
