Colorado quarterback Brendon Lewis officially entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.

The redshirt sophomore appeared in 15 games during his two-plus seasons with the Buffaloes. During the 2021 season, Lewis started all 12 games throwing for 1,540 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions while also rushing for 188 yards and two scores.

Lewis got the start for Colorado in their season-opening 38-13 loss to TCU, but was replaced in a couple of instances by J.T. Shrout, who would replace Lewis as the starter the following week against Air Force.

Lewis saw action in Colorado's 49-7 loss to Minnesota on September 17th, going 2-for-6 for 14 yards, but hasn't played since.

Colorado fired head coach Karl Dorrell on October 2nd, which allows current players on the roster to officially enter the transfer portal within a 30-day window according to the new NCAA transfer rules.

In high school, Lewis was rated a 5.7, three-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class and was the No. 16 dual-threat quarterback in the country. He chose Colorado over the likes of Missouri, Nebraska, TCU, Mississippi State, Texas Tech, and others.
