Bill Belichick added depth and young talent on Friday, adding former UCLA defensive back Khristian Dunbar-Hawkins. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder will have all four years of eligibility after redshirting last season for the Bruins.

The family connection helped the Tar Heels reel in Dunbar-Hawkins; he’s the brother of UNC’s cornerbacks coach Armond Hawkins.

Khristian didn’t see time on the field as a freshman, despite coming to the Bruins with a big reputation as a four-star prospect in the Rivals 100.

During his senior year at Tustin (Calif.), Dunbar-Hawkins amassed 46 tackles (37 solo and nine assisted), 22 passes defended, one interception and one fumble recovery.

He’ll try and add a spark for a defensive secondary that ranked No. 13 overall in the ACC, posting just nine interceptions in 2024.
