Kentucky redshirt sophomore transfer defensive lineman Kendrick Gilbert has committed to Louisville.
He officially entered the portal on April 16 with three years of eligibility remaining.
Gilbert spent two seasons in Lexington under head coach Mark Stoops.
He will now play under head coach Jeff Brohm, co-defensive coordinator/defensive line coach Mark Hagen, co-defensive coordinator/secondary coach Ron English and the rest of the Cardinals' staff.
In 2024, the 6-foot-5, 275-pound Gilbert appeared in eight games. He recorded five tackles and one tackle for loss.
According to Pro Football Focus, Gilbert played 53 snaps on defense and recorded an overall grade of 56.4 in 2024. The majority of his reps came in the interior of the defensive line. He also played seven snaps on special teams.
As a true freshman in 2023, Gilbert appeared in two games (versus Ball State an Clemson) and recorded two total tackles.
Gilbert was a four-star defensive tackle and Rivals250 prospect out of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis in the class of 2023. He ranked as the No. 220 recruit overall, No. 3 player in the state of Indiana and No. 15 defensive tackle in the cycle.
