Kendy Charles, a star defensive tackle out of Liberty, entered the transfer portal on December 6th. Since 2020, Charles has played in 29 games, starting 20 of them between 2022 and 2023 before missing games with injury this past season.

In 2023, through seven games, Charles totaled 24 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, a fumble recovery, and a quarterback hit across 336 total defensive snaps. Despite just playing seven games, Charles was able to post the seventh-best Pro Football Focus defensive grade on a Flames defense that helped the team to 13-0 record.

Charles’ 2022 campaign was more than exceptional. Having started all 13 games, Charles was able to rack up 59 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble. Charles landed College Football Network’s First Team All-Independent Team recognition. He also earned recognition on Phil Steele’s First Team All-Independent defense.

The six-foot, 280 pound defensive tackle will likely be a coveted prospect in the transfer portal.
