Dan Lanning added talent, versatility and, perhaps most important, experience to his offensive trenches, securing USC transfer offensive lineman Emmanuel Pregnon on Tuesday. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder will have one year of eligibility remaining.

How big a get was this for Lanning’s offense?

In 13 starts for the Trojans last season, Pregnon didn’t give up a single sack at left guard. He’ll join a strong contingent of lineman in Eugene including Dave Iuli, Kawika Rogers and, potentially, Matthew Bedford.

Last season he helped anchor a line that opened holes and gave time to produce 3,795 passing yards and 1,889 rushing yards.

Pregnon, who appeared in 26 games in his time with the Trojans, is versatile and experienced enough to play either guard position, which could solidify a starting spot next season.
