Ja’Mori Maclin, a sophomore receiver out of North Texas, has entered the transfer portal with two seasons of eligibility remaining: “[...] I have decided to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer with two seasons of eligibility left. Looking forward to the next chapter”.
Maclin garnered 57 receptions for 1,004 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in his 2023 sophomore campaign. His 1,004 yards were best for third in the American Athletic Conference, while his 11 touchdowns were good for second.
In 2022, as a freshman, Maclin played in 14 contests with one start, totaling 16 catches for 380 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 24.7 yards per reception. His performance was enough to earn him a spot on the coaches C-USA All-Freshman Team. Maclin is the cousin of former All-American and NFL receiver Jeremy Maclin.
Maclin will be a hot target in the portal, but this isn't his first time: prior to joining North Texas, Maclin spent two seasons at Missouri, seeing limited action. After breaking out as a member of the Mean Green program, Maclin will be a coveted asset.
