Oklahoma State received some good news on Wednesday in the form of a transfer portal commitment. Tulsa linebacker Justin Wright announced his decision to transfer to Stillwater, providing Mike Gundy and the Cowboys an experienced defender.

The Abilene, Texas, native totaled over 100 tackles and double-digit tackles-for-loss during his redshirt senior campaign for the Golden Hurricanes. He earned second-team All-American Athletic Conference honors after leading Tulsa in tackles this past season.

It was a necessary pickup for the Cowboys, as the program has seen multiple starters hit the portal since the 2022 season's conclusion. That includes All-Big 12 linebacker Mason Cobb, who has picked up a handful of offers this week.

Wright is rated as a three-star prospect in the Rivals Transfer Portal Rankings. He is expected to be a plug-and-play player in the Big 12 during his final year of eligibility on the collegiate level.

Justin Wright committed to the Cowboys over transfer offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, and Wake Forest.
