Tennessee received a commitment from UC Davis tight end transfer McCallan Castles on Wednesday. Through 11 games this season, the junior has recorded 30 receptions for 347 yards and two touchdowns.

Castles originally committed to California as a three-star recruit in the 2018 class. He appeared in three games a true freshman and then started the Golden Bears' season opener in 2019 before leaving the program two games into the season. From there he transferred to UC Davis where he has spent the past three seasons. During his time with the Aggies, he has piled up 928 yards and nine touchdowns through the air.

Castles’ commitment helps Tennessee fill a major need at tight end. The Volunteers are set to lose sixth-year senior Princeton Fant, while fifth-year senior Jacob Warren has yet to announce whether or not he plans to return next season. Tennessee also saw redshirt freshman Miles Campbell enter the NCAA transfer portal.
