Tuesday Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch landed a transfer with some excellent bloodlines when Florida State running back D.J. Williams committed to the Wildcats.
Williams’s uncle is NFL Hall of Fame running back Edgerrin James.
At FSU Williams appeared in six games and rushed for 47 yards with one touchdown on 10 carries. He started his NCAA career at Auburn where Williams appeared in 19 games with three starts in two seasons. He rushed 122 times for 599 yards and five touchdowns with 12 catches for 72 yards. Williams posted a career-high 130 rushing yards at No. 2 LSU in 2019 and added 21 receiving yards for career-best 151 all-purpose yards against eventual national champions.
