Walton started 27 of the 28 games he appeared in this season. He led the Shockers in scoring (13.9 ppg) and was fourth in rebounding average (5.3 rpg). A three level scorer, Walton made 53.5 percent of his shots, including 40.0 percent of his three-point attempts (42-of-105).

This was Walton’s second time entering the transfer portal. He appeared in eight games during his freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia. Walton spent the 2021-22 season at Shelton State JC in Tuscaloosa, AL where he averaged average 12.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 22 games before transferring to Wichita State.

Walton is the first player to transfer to Alabama this cycle. His decision came mere hours after Nimari Burnett announced that he was entering the transfer portal.
