Alabama WR Caleb Odom plans to enter transfer portal

Alabama true freshman wide receiver Caleb Odom intends to enter the transfer portal when it officially opens on Monday, Dec 9, according to reports.

Odom appeared in all 12 games for the Crimson Tide in 2024, and made one start, which came against Mercer on Nov. 16.

He recorded seven receptions for 65 yards this season, with his longest catch going for 15 yards.

According to Pro Football Focus, Odom played 145 offensive snaps in 2024, and recorded an overall offensive grade of 56.1. He also played 84 snaps on special teams.

The 6-foot-5, 227-pound Odom will have three years of eligibility remaining.

As a prospect out of Carrollton High School in Georgia, Odom was rated as four-star tight end recruit. He ranked as the No. 2 tight end, No. 8 prospect in the state of Georgia and No. 73 overall recruit in the class of 2024.

He had nearly 50 scholarship offers coming out of high school and committed to Alabama in July of 2023. Odom signed with the Crimson Tide in December of 2023 and enrolled in January of 2024. He made the move from tight end to wide receiver during the spring of 2024.

The winter college football transfer portal window is scheduled to open on Dec. 9, 2024 for 20 days. Additionally, players have a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves. There is also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team has finished postseason play. A 10-day transfer window will open on April 16 as well.
