Arizona State's Markham brothers enter transfer portal

The first two Arizona State players to transfer since the school's firing of Herm Edwards have hit the portal. Defensive backs Kejuan and Keon Markham both entered the transfer portal Friday, Rivals has learned.

The Markham brothers did not have to wait until the opening of the first transfer window on Dec. 5 to enter the portal because of the NCAA's exception for players experiencing a coaching change. Both players will be able to receive contact from other schools right away.

Both Markham brothers committed to Arizona State in the class of 2018. They both redshirted their first season on campus.

Kejuan emerged as a starter last season, when he totaled 27 tackles and an interception. He logged 10 tackles and another pick in three games this season. Keon had just 18 tackles across 2020 and 2021 but was off to a strong start this year with 11 tackles and an interception in three appearances.

Both will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
