Oregon State junior quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is entering the transfer portal after one season with the Beavers. During his lone season in Corvallis, Uiagalelei went 180-315 for 2638 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 219 yards and six touchdowns on 68 carries. He played in all 12 games for the Beavers, guiding them to an 8-4 record and a #21 ranking in the AP Top 25 poll.

Uiagalelei played his first three seasons at Clemson, committing to them as a 5-star pro-style quarterback out of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California. He had a 6.1 Rivals rating, was the top quarterback, and third ranked recruit overall in Rivals’ rankings for the 2020 class.

When Uiagalelei transferred to Oregon State, he was coming off a season at Clemson in which he played in 13 games, going 229-370 for 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He really blossomed in the 2022 season, making his addition to Oregon State such a big deal. Not to mention how highly rated he was out of high school. Given that Oregon State’s conference future is up-in-the-air, it’s no surprise he’s opting to find a more solid situation. It’ll be fun to track where he ends up.
