Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford is on the move again, as he placed his name in the NCAA transfer portal Friday morning.

Ashford previously transferred to the Tigers from Oregon. Typically that would require him to sit out a season before being eligible to play for his new team. However, a court decision in Ohio earlier this week could lead to two-time transfers being able to play immediately. Assuming he is cleared right away, Ashford will have two seasons of eligibility at his next school.

Ashford has started 10 games over 22 appearances for Auburn over his two seasons with the Tigers. This year, he served primarily as Payton Thorne’s backup, completing 14 of 27 passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns with a pair of interceptions while adding 217 yards and five touchdowns on 46 carries.

Ashford started nine games over 12 appearances last year, completing 49.2% of his passes for 1,613 yards and seven touchdowns with seven interceptions. He also added 709 yards and seven more scores on the ground. His best performance that year came against Alabama when he completed 11 of 23 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown while adding 121 yards and two more scores on 17 carries.

Ashford, a Hoover, Alabama native, signed with Oregon as the No. 15 dual-threat quarterback in the 2020 class. He did not see any playing time in his two years with the Ducks.
