Auburn receiver leaves team; will enter the portal

Auburn wide receiver Tar’varish Dawson has left the team and announced his intent to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He is the fourth Auburn player to make such an announcement this week, joining tight end Landen King, cornerback A.D. Diamond and defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker.

Dawson has appeared in three games but only posted stats in two of them, catching two passes for 30-yards and a touchdown. He also has two carries for 10-yards.

A three-star prospect out of Lehigh High School (Leigh Acres, FL), Dawson chose Auburn over offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Miami, Ole Miss, South Florida and others.

College football players have a 45-day “window” to officially enter the transfer portal beginning Dec. 5, the day following the championship selection. There is a second “window” in the spring from April 15-30.
