Jeff Lebby got a strong piece to the puzzle for his defensive frontline next season, landing former Auburn defensive end Darron Reed. The 6-foot-5, 260-pound athlete will have three years of eligibility remaining with Mississippi State.

Lebby is banking a lot on Reed’s potential as a strongside edge rusher, as he fell short of recording stats in two seasons in Auburn. He appeared in three games in his career as a Tiger.

Still, as a senior at Carver High School, Reed racked up eight sacks and 33 total tackles, proving that he’s a capable force as a four-star prospect in the Top 100.

He’ll be a welcome addition for a defense that only managed 10 sacks this season and accumulated 1,033 tackles.
