It's not all that often where a player transfers back to a school that they transferred away from. However, that was the case when Austin Stogner announced that he will be returning to Oklahoma.

Stogner signed with the Sooners as a four-star prospect in the 2019 recruiting cycle before transferring to South Carolina last offseason. Stogner and former Sooners quarterback Spencer Rattler reunited with former Oklahoma assistant Shane Beamer in the SEC for the 2022 season.

Now, the former blue chip tight end is set to be back in Norman. This time, though, under a new regime. Stogner initially signed with Lincoln Riley's staff, and he will now play under Brent Venables.

During his one season in Columbia, Stogner grabbed 20 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown. He played alongside Jaheim Bell at the position for the Gamecocks.

Stogner earned All-Big 12 honors as a sophomore in 2020 with the Sooners. He posted more than 400 yards receiving and caught three touchdown passes. His return to Norman provides offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby with another weapon in the passing game.

Austin Stogner is a graduate transfer and has one more season of eligibility remaining.
