Clayton Coll, a six-foot-three, 235 pound linebacker out of Ball State, entered the transfer portal on December 1st: “Due to the injury I suffered early in the season, I have the opportunity to play a 6th (sixth) year. Given these circumstances, I have entered my name into the transfer portal and look forward to new opportunities”. Coll will be a graduate transfer with a single season of eligibility remaining.

Coll entered the 2023 season on the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List, Preseason All-MAC (first team by Athlon Sports and Pro Football Focus), and was labeled as a Preseason Group of Five Second Team All-American by HERO Sports. The linebacker was able to play in two games before going down with an injury, garnering four tackles.

In 2022, Coll landed 2022 All-MAC Second Team recognition after pulling in 110 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass deflections, and two forced fumbles.

As a Cardinal, Coll started 25 games, earning three nominations for the Wuerffel Trophy while back-to-back 100-plus tackle seasons between 2021 and 2022. The graduate transfer will likely garner Power Five attention.
