Roughly two weeks after announcing his commitment to Washington, Johntay Cook is again looking for a new landing spot after being dismissed from the team, according to Rivals National Recruiting Director Adam Gorney.

The reason for Cook’s dismissal is not immediately clear.

The 6-foot, 170-pound wide receiver will have three years of eligibility remaining wherever he ultimately lands.

Cook left Texas in early November after racking up eight receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns. That production nearly mirrored his numbers as a freshman when he posted eight catches for 136 yards.

Despite the setback, Cook will once again be a hot commodity in the transfer portal due in large part to his potential and 4.3 speed.

Cook was a five-star prospect coming out of DeSoto (Texas) High School, checking in at No. 24 overall in the Top 100 for 2023.

He also considered Florida before picking the Huskies in December.
