Cashius Howell, an edge rusher out of Bowling Green, has entered the transfer portal. Howell, a sophomore, joined the Falcons program in 2021, appearing in 29 games while recording all nine career starts in 2023.
As a sophomore in 2023, through 12 games played and nine starts, Howell was able to pull in 27 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and four quarterback hits. Howell’s 9.5 sacks led the MAC. By the end of the season, the linebacker landed on the All-MAC Third Team defense. He earned a 70.0 defensive grade on Pro Football Focus, along with a stellar 86.6 pass rushing grade.
In 2022, through 13 games, Howell totaled 22 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, a pass deflection, and a fumble recovery. He earned an 80.7 tackling grade, ending the season with a 67.7 total defensive grade.
Now, the edge rusher will look for a new home off the heels of a productive season in the MAC. Howell is from Kansas City, Missouri, so a move to a school like Kansas or Missouri could be possible.
