The mass exodus in the California backfield continued on Wednesday as Jaivian Thomas became the fifth Bears running back who plans to enter the transfer portal.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound athlete will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next landing spot.
Thomas showed flashes last season, posting 626 yards on 100 carries and scoring seven touchdowns.
He came into Berkeley with a big reputation after a dominant senior season at McClymonds (Calif.), rushing for 2,528 yards and 30 touchdowns and reaching the Division 2-AA state championship game.
Thomas was a three-star prospect by Rivals.com.
