The news came on Saturday, just a couple days after they landed 2024 five-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton, so they are really giving their offensive line a much-needed makeover this holiday season.

On Walker, he committed to Connecticut as a 3-star recruit in the class of 2021 out of Desoto High School in Desoto, Texas. He started for the Huskies this past season after redshirting 2021 and not playing at all in 2022. He’s got a lot of upside and should be able to fill in nicely as their starting center.

As for Johnson, he was rated as a 4-star recruit in the class of 2019, signing with Texas out of Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas. He played three seasons at Texas before playing the last two seasons at Houston, where he started both seasons. He started at right guard in 2022 and at left guard in 2023, so he’s got some versatility.

When looking at the biggest needs Colorado needed to address via this offseason, offensive line was atop the list. By adding two solid transfers along with a five-star freshman, they should be feeling good about how they addressed that need. Now it’s just about these guys delivering the goods.
