Colorado lands commitment from Oklahoma transfer DB Makari Vickers

Deion Sanders added some firepower to his secondary on Wednesday, scoring a commitment from former Oklahoma defensive back Makari Vickers. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder was on the final day of his visit in Boulder. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Vickers redshirted this season due to an injury but made a splash as a true freshman, racking up eight tackles and a pass deflection for the Sooners in 2023.

He should step in a compete for significant time for Sanders next season, joining a talented group that finished tied for fifth in the Big 12 this season, posting 12 interceptions and sixth in passing yards allowed at 204.7 this season.

Vickers was considered a four-star prospect who checked in at No. 81 overall in the Top 100 in 2023.
