Former Rivals250 member Cordale Russell is aiming to get on the field at school No. 3.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound wide receiver originally attended Texas Christian, where he had signed in the class of 2023. Rivals.com ranked him the No. 130 overall player, No. 27 overall player in Texas and No. 19 wide receiver nationally.
Russell played in three games at TCU and elected to transfer to Colorado, where he also didn’t play this season due to an injury suffered last spring. He had previously thanked CU coach Deion Sanders for giving him a second chance.
Russell attended North Mesquite High in Mesquite, Texas, and he caught 34 passes for 725 yards and nine touchdowns his senior year. He added 21 catches for 317 yards and four scores his junior campaign.
He originally picked SMU, but then followed coach Sonny Dykes to Texas Christian, picking the Horned Frogs over Ole Miss, Florida State, Arkansas, South Carolina, Nebraska and Tennessee, among others. Russell then decommitted from TCU, and Baylor and Texas Tech, entered the fray, but he ended up signing with Dykes' program.
