FIU WR Kris Mitchell Enters Transfer Portal

Kris Mitchell, the leading receiver in the Conference USA, has entered the transfer portal.

Reigning from Florida International, the six-foot-one, 175 pound Jacksonville-native announced his entrance into the transfer portal as a graduate transfer on November 28th, stating, “[...] I will be evaluating all of my options for next season as a graduate transfer. When one chapter ends, another one starts; I am beyond excited for the possibilities ahead!”.

In 2023, Mitchell led the Panthers and C-USA in receiving yards with 1,118 across 64 receptions in 12 games started, along with seven receiving touchdowns, which is tied for fourth in the conference. Mitchell’s 1,118 yards broke the Panthers single-season receiving yards record, surpassing Tyrese Chambers (1,074 in 2021).

In 2022, Mitchell garnered 348 yards and four touchdowns across 23 receptions, averaging 15.1 yards per reception. The receiver played in 12 games, starting eight. His efforts in his 2022 season led to 2023 preseason honors, where Mitchell earned Third Team All-C-USA recognition from Athlon Sports and Fourth Team recognition from Phil Steele.

The Panthers star receiver will have a single season of eligibility remaining, entering the portal as a premier target amongst receivers.
