The NCAA transfer portal will soon feature a new five-star prize as Georgia defensive lineman Bear Alexander intends to enter his name in the database. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound defender was rated as the No. 9 overall player and No. 2 defensive tackle in last year’s class. He recorded nine tackles and two sacks in his debut season last year.

Alexander appeared in 12 of Georgia's 15 games last season. He began to hit his stride late in the year, recording a sack against Georgia Tech as well as one in the national championship game against TCU. The Denton, Texas native will have three years of eligibility at his next school.

Alexander signed with Georgia after an on-again, off-again recruitment with the Bulldogs. He originally committed to Georgia in February of 2021 before decommitting that June. After much speculation that he would sign with home-state Texas A&M, he eventually chose to commit to Kirby Smart and Georgia once again in October of 2021.
