Florida State wide receiver Malik Benson is the latest star to benefit from the NCAA now allowing JUCO players an extra year to suit up. As a result, Benson announced that he would be entering the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility.

The NCAA’s JUCO waiver was granted on Monday by its board of directors.

Benson was considered the No. 1 JUCO prospect coming into the 2023 when he signed with Alabama. He made the move to Tallahassee a year later.

Between the two years with the Crimson Tide and the Seminoles, Benson accumulated 473 yards on 38 receptions and scored two touchdowns.

Expect the 6-foot-1, 195-pound speedster to be a commodity in the portal immediately.
