Florida transfer CB Ja'Keem Jackson officially joins LSU

LSU has officially added Florida transfer cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson to its roster, the Tigers announced on social media on Saturday.

He ranks as the No. 28 transfer portal prospect this cycle, according to Rivals.

Jackson spent two seasons with head coach Billy Napier and the Gators in 2023 and 2024.

He will now head to Baton Rouge to play under head coach Brian Kelly, defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Blake Baker, secondary coach Corey Raymond and the rest of the LSU staff.

Jackson played in 11 games for Florida in 2023 as a true freshman. He recorded seven tackles, three passes defended and a quarterback hurry that season.

As a sophomore in 2024, Jackson was limited to just two games (both starts) due to an injury. He recorded four tackles and a pass defended on the campaign.

According to Pro Football Focus, Jackson played 86 total defensive snaps in 2024, and recorded a defensive grade of 57.8 and a coverage grade of 58.7.

The 6-foot, 189-pound Jackson was a four-star cornerback prospect out of Osceola High School in Florida in the 2023 class. He ranked as the No. 16 cornerback, No. 25 recruit in Florida and the No. 120 overall prospect in the 2023 cycle.

Jackson received around 35 scholarship offers during his high school recruitment. He committed to the Gators in July of 2022 and signed with Florida in December of 2022. He was an early enrollee for Florida, arriving in Gainesville in January 2023 and went through spring football with the Gators that year.

The winter college football transfer portal window is scheduled to open on Dec. 9, 2024 for 20 days. Additionally, players have a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves. There is also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team has finished postseason play. A 10-day transfer window will open on April 16 as well.
