Former Arkansas QB Madden Iamaleava is headed to UCLA

Madden Iamaleava didn’t feel out of place for long if at all, mere hours after announcing he would indeed be leaving Arkansas after just four months to enter the transfer portal, the freshman quarterback committed to UCLA. The 6-foot-2, 191-pounder will have all four years of eligibility with the Bruins.

Iamaleava was originally was committed to UCLA coming out of high school, before flipping to the Razorbacks in December.

Madden is the younger brother of Nico Iamaleava, who transferred to UCLA on Sunday after a major disagreement with the Vols over NIL negotiations.

Madden didn’t play his senior season after he was denied eligibility following a transfer situation. As a junior, Iamaleava threw for more than 3,600 yards and 43 touchdowns with just four interceptions.

He was considered a four-star prospect in the Rivals 100 in 2025.

The winter college football transfer portal window opened on December 9th, 2024 for 20 days. There was also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team finished postseason play. Additionally, players get a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves.
