DeShaun Foster scored a major commitment for his backfield, landing former Cal running back Jaivian Thomas on Friday. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound athlete will have two years of eligibility remaining at UCLA.
Thomas proved his mettle last season, leading the Golden Bears with 626 rushing yards on 100 carries and scoring seven touchdowns.
That was more reminiscent of the reputation that preceded him when he came to Cal from McClymonds (Calif.), rushing for 2,528 yards and 30 touchdowns and reaching the Division 2-AA state championship game.
The former three-star prospect by Rivals.com will now look to improve a running attack that finished last in the Big Ten in 2024, posting just 1,039 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
