Tennessee RB Lyn-J Dixon back in the portal

For the third time this offseason, running back Lyn-J Dixon has entered his name into the transfer portal. Dixon most recently was on the roster at Tennessee, where he committed August 3.

A little more than three weeks later, Dixon is back in the portal, Rivals has learned. The news comes a few days after It was reported that Dixon was no longer part of the Tennessee roster.

Dixon, a four-star recruit in the class of 2018, spent each of his first four college seasons at Clemson. He saw the best production of his career as a sophomore in 2019, carrying the ball 104 times for 635 yards and six touchdowns. Last season, he fell out of the Tigers' regular running back rotation, carrying the ball just 10 times across the team's first three games and then entering the transfer portal. Overall in his Clemson career, Dixon turned 218 carries into 1,420 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Dixon committed to West Virginia in November. In June, he re-entered the transfer portal before committed to Tennessee.

Should Dixon resurface again elsewhere, he would have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
