He began the last two seasons as the Aggies starter. His 2021 season ended in the second game of the season due to a leg injury. King was benched after two starts in 2022 but returned to action in four more games.

King threw for 1,220 yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions in six games this season for the Aggies.

King was a three-star recruit in the 2020 class coming out of Longview, Texas. He was the thirteenth-ranked dual-threat quarterback in his class and is the No. 120 ranked player in the transfer portal.

"King will give the Jackets another experienced quarterback to compete in a room with Zach Pyron and Zach Gibson who both started games for the Yellow Jackets this past season," said JacketsOnline.com publisher Kelly Quinlan. "With a new offensive coordinator, but quarterback coach Chris Weinke back, the Jackets will be going into the spring with a clean slate and King gives them another dual-threat guy to go with Pyron that can extend plays and throw on the move as well as in the pocket. It is a good pickup for the Jackets who are trying to rebuild a quarterback room after losing multiple quarterback signees to attrition since the end of the 2020 season."

With multiple years of eligibility left, and Jeff Sims transferring out of Georgia Tech, look for King to start for the Yellow Jackets.
