Former Rivals.com four-star prospect Brenen Thompson is trying to find school No. 3 after struggling his first three years of college football.
Thompson was ranked No. 144 overall, No. 21 in Oklahoma and No. 23 nationally at wide receiver by Rivals.com in the class of 2022. The Spearman (Texas) High product signed with Texas over Texas A&M and Oklahoma State. Clemson, Alabama, Oregon, Notre Dame, Nebraska, TCU and Oklahoma were also in the mix, among others.
Thompson caught one pass for 32 yards in 2022, and then he transferred to play for Oklahoma. He caught 26 passes for 471 yards and four touchdowns in two years with the Sooners. He did catch a 63-yard touchdown against Arizona in the 2023 Alamo Bowl.
Thompson was also a track star in high school with 10.22 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 20.73 in the 200. He was selected to participate in 2022 Under Armour Next All-America Game.
Thomas was affected by an injury his senior year at Spearman High. He finished with 2,280 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns, and also 1,196 receiving yards and 14 scores. He also threw for 1,182 passing yards and 15 scores, and had over 1,500 return yards and five scores.
