Texas A&M concluded an otherwise forgettable season with a bang, upsetting No. 5 LSU at Kyle Field on Saturday night. It was a much-needed way to end the 2022 campaign for Jimbo Fisher and company after failing to meet preseason expectations.

Despite the win in the season finale, the Aggies have seen two freshmen announce their intentions to enter the transfer portal: running back LJ Johnson and linebacker Ish Harris.

Johnson was ranked as a high four-star prospect after a dominant career at Cypress (Texas) Fair in the Greater Houston Area. Ranked No. 44 in the 2021 Rivals100, Johnson inked with the Aggies over offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Texas, and several other programs from across the nation.

At Texas A&M, Johnson played in just six games during his freshman season. In limited action, the former four-star recruit carried the ball 10 times for 39 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns.

As for Harris, he was ranked as a four-star recruit that opted for the Aggies over an offer sheet that featured the likes of Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU, and Texas. He committed to Texas A&M in the summer before his senior season and never looked back before enrolling in College Station.

He did not see any action for the Aggies during his freshman season.
