In a twist, Georgia true freshman wide receiver Nitro Tuggle will be staying with the Bulldogs after all, Rivals can confirm.
On Dec. 9, a source close to Tuggle told Rivals' rankings director and national transfer portal analyst Adam Friedman that he was planning to enter the transfer portal.
However, he never officially entered. On Dec. 10, Tuggle's camp confirmed with Friedman and Rivals that he will be staying in Athens to continue to play under head coach Kirby Smart, offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Mike Bobo, wide receivers coach James Coley and the rest of the Georgia staff.
Tuggle took to social media to announce the news.
In 2024, Tuggle appeared in seven games for Georgia. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound wideout recorded three receptions for 34 yards (11.3 yards per catch), with his longest catch going for 16 yards.
He recorded 39 offensive snaps as a true freshman, and received an offensive grade of 57.5, according to Pro Football Focus. He also saw action on 17 special teams as well.
Tuggle still has three years of eligibility remaining.
As a four-star prospect out of NorthWood High School in Indiana in the class of 2024, Tuggle ranked in the top-100 in the country, checking in at No. 92 overall in the Rivals250. He also ranked as the No. 3 recruit in the state of Indiana and the No. 21 wide receiver in the cycle.
He had 30 scholarship offers coming out of high school.
Tuggle signed with the Bulldogs in December of 2023 and enrolled at Georgia in January of 2024. He went through spring ball with UGA before seeing his first action against college competition this fall.
