Brayden Schager, a junior quarterback from Hawaii, announced on December 6th that he’s entering the transfer portal: “After much prayer and conversations with my family, I have decided to enter the transfer portal”.
In 2023, the six-foot-three, 225 pound Schager led Hawaii to a 5-8 record. Through 13 games played and started, Schager completed 332 of his 525 passes for 3,542 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He added 63 yards and two scores on the ground. Schager finished as a 2023 All-Mountain West Honorable Mention. He led the Mountain West in passing yard and passing touchdowns, and nationally, ranked eighth in the nation in air yards, 13th in passing scores, and sixth in completions per game (25.5).
Through Schager’s 2022 campaign, the sophomore gunslinger appeared in 12 games, starting 10 contests. Overall, he accrued 2,348 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions through the air. He finished second in the Mountain West in passing yards per game (195.7).
In 2021, as a true freshman out of Highland Park High School (Dallas, Texas), Schager played in six games, starting three of them.
Schager will be a senior next season. The All-Mountain West recognized passer, who grew exponentially under head coach Timmy Chang, will be a highly coveted target in the portal.
