Former Indiana and Texas cornerback Jamier Johnson has committed to UCLA.

It was reported in late January that Johnson was no longer with Indiana's football program. He officially entered the transfer portal on Feb. 3 and is expected to have one year of college eligibility remaining.

After beginning his career at Texas and spending two seasons in Austin in 2021 and 2022 under head Steve Sarkisian, Johnson transferred to Indiana ahead of the 2023 season to play under head coach Tom Allen. Following Allen's firing from IU, Johnson played for head coach Curt Cignetti in 2024.

He will spend the 2025 campaign playing under head coach DeShaun Foster, defensive coordinator Ikaika Malloe, passing game coordinator coach Demetrice Martin and the rest of the UCLA staff. Also of note, the Bruins' current offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, Tino Sunseri, was the co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the Hoosiers in 2024 while Johnson was on the roster.

Playing in Los Angeles in 2025 is a homecoming for Johnson. He was a four-star cornerback prospect out of John Muir High School in Pasadena, California in the class of 2021.

Johnson ranked as the No. 215 overall prospect in the 2021 class. He was also ranked as the No. 18 recruit in the state of California and the No. 21 cornerback in the cycle.

Johnson had around 20 scholarship offers out of high school. He committed to Texas in July of 2020 and signed with the Longhorns in December of 2020. Johnson enrolled early, arriving in Austin in January of 2021.
