Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown took to social media on Thursday to announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal. The Wildcats receiver played three seasons in Lexington and will have one year of eligibility left.

Brown’s news is an especially tough blow for Kentucky, a day after reports surfaced about wide receivers coach Daikiel Shorts bolting for Nebraska for the same position after just a year at the helm for the Wildcats.

This past season, Brown racked up 361 yards on 29 receptions and scored three touchdowns for the Wildcats. That put him at 1,528 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns for his career.

Brown signed with the Wildcats in 2021 as a four-star receiver, picking Kentucky over Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn, among others.
