CJ Daniels, a wide receiver out of Liberty, officially entered the transfer portal on January 4th. Daniels joined Liberty in 2020 as a true freshman out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia. Since joining the Flames, the junior played in 42 games, recording 19 starts.
In 2023, Daniels put together his best season yet. Across 14 games, Daniels hauled in 55 receptions for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. By the season’s end, he was recognized as a Second Team All-Conference USA honoree by the C-USA and Phil Steele. He was named First Team All-C-USA by College Football Network.
Prior to missing most of the 2022 season, Daniels put together a strong 2021 campaign. Through 13 games played and six starts, Daniels pulled in 37 receptions for 629 yards and seven scores. He was named a VaSID All-State Second Team honoree.
The six-foot-two, 200 pound junior is likely to garner a healthy amount of attention after a strong 13-1 season, where they landed in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl against eighth ranked Oregon. Daniels visited Auburn on January 5th, where his former head coach, Hugh Freeze, is currently the head coach.
