LSU added to its transfer class Tuesday, signing former Maryland offensive lineman Mason Lunsford out of the transfer portal. The 6-foot-7 visited Baton, Rouge, Louisiana over the weekend and chose the Tigers over offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Houston and others.

Lunsford started 24 games during his four years at Maryland and was the Terripins’ first-team left guard the past two seasons. Last year, he finished second on the team with a 79.8 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus, allowing just nine pressures and no sacks over 381 pass-blocking snaps. Lunsford also earned a 62.1 run-blocking mark from PFF.

Lunsford, an Olney Maryland native, signed with the Terrapins as a three-star recruit in 2019. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at LSU.
