LSU coach Brian Kelly got a major jolt to his offense on Saturday, landing former Kentucky receiver Barion Brown. The 6-foot-1, 183-pound speedster will have just one year of eligibility in Baton Rouge.
To say Brown’s commitment is a major score for the Tigers is severely understating it.
Back in August, Southern Miss coach Will Hall famously said Brown was the best player he’s ever coached against, including Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill.
Brown was electric in Lexington from day one, posting 628 receiving yards on 50 receptions and scoring four touchdowns.
In all three seasons, he accumulated 1,528 yards on 122 receptions and scored 11 touchdowns.
He also doubles as a gifted kick returner, ranking No. 1 in Kentucky history in kickoff return average at 29.3 yards per return.
Brown should improve the LSU offense which ranked No. 9 in the SEC, averaging 29.3 points a game.
