Brian Kelly scored a much-needed commitment on Friday, landing former Northwestern offensive lineman Josh Thompson. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder will have one year of eligibility remaining with LSU.

Thompson will be a welcomed addition with the loss of multiple starters upfront next season. His experience at multiple positions in the offensive trenches will be invaluable for Kelly's system.

That should help the Tigers in their quest to build on the production from last season which ranked last in the SEC in rushing yards this season.

In his career for the Wildcats, he’s started 21 games and played in 31 games and made honorable mention in the Big Ten this season.
