LSU transfer defensive end/outside linebacker Da'Shawn Womack has picked his next college program. Following an official visit, Womack committed to Mississippi on Thursday morning.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Womack ranks as the No. 28 overall transfer prospect, and No. 2 defensive end this cycle, according to Rivals.
Womack spent two seasons with head coach Brian Kelly and the Tigers in 2023 and 2024. He will now play under head coach Lane Kiffin, defensive coordinator/linebackers coach Pete Golding, defensive line coach Randall Joyner and the rest of the Ole Miss staff.
In 2024, Womack played in eight games. He recorded eight tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and four passes defended.
According to Pro Football Focus, Womack played 100 total defensive snaps combined between the defensive end and outside linebacker spots in 2024. He received an overall defensive grade of 73.3.
As a true freshman in 2023, Womack played in 12 games. He amassed 13 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
In 20 career games, Womack has recorded 21 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and four passes defended.
Womack will have two years of eligibility remaining, and still has a redshirt available if needed.
As a four-star weak-side defensive end prospect out of Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, Womack ranked as the No. 75 overall recruit in the class of 2023. He also ranked as the No. 2 prospect in the state of Maryland and No. 9 player at his position in the cycle.

The winter college football transfer portal window is scheduled to open on Dec. 9, 2024 for 20 days. Additionally, players have a 30-day window to transfer when their head coach leaves. There is also a five-day window for players to transfer after their team has finished postseason play. A 10-day transfer window will open on April 16 as well.
