Darrell Jackson, who started every game for the Miami Hurricanes this season has committed to Florida State. Jackson entered the NCAA transfer portal early Wednesday evening and within a few hours found a new home.
He made the announcement via his Instagram page.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Jackson was a three-star prospect out of East Gadsden H.S. (Havana, Fla.) who began his college career at Maryland. He used his one-time transfer option when he left the Terrapins for the Hurricanes. Jackson will need a waiver from the NCAA to be able to play immediately in the 2023 season.
Jackson posted 27 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss and three sacks this year for Miami (5-7). He had 22 tackles at Maryland in 2021. Jackson has started 24 games over two seasons. Jackson’s departure literally leaves a huge hole in the middle of the Hurricane’s defense and is a huge get for the Seminoles.
