Mario Cristobal just scored a big piece to the offensive puzzle for next season, snagging a commitment from former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck. The two-time national champ (2021 and 2022) will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Last month, Beck announced that he would enter the NFL Draft, but opted for the transfer portal with a "do no contact" tag attached.
Beck is still recovering from a recent elbow surgery after suffering the injury in the SEC Championship game. The injury sidelined Beck during the Bulldogs playoff run.
This season, Beck threw for 3.485 yards, 28 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
For his career in Athens, he threw for 7,912 yards and 58 touchdowns.
Beck's message to get Miami fans excited for next season?
"Go Canes," he wrote via social media.
He'll look to maintain a vibrant offense that ranked No. 1 in the ACC this season, posting 43.9 points a game. The Canes were the second best passing offense in the league, posting 4,527 yards and 41 touchdowns this season.
